Jude has worked in the field of housing and homelessness for over 20 years, gaining a wealth of experience in designing, delivering and commissioning services to support those in need of accommodation and support.
She has worked within local authorities, in small charities and within housing associations, always leading from the front, not afraid to develop new ways of working and championing approaches that take account of the whole person such as psychologically informed environments, trauma informed care and coproduction.
Jude currently works with the Peabody Group who are responsible for 66,000 homes across London and the South East including the largest provision (over 1000 self-contained units) of accommodation commissioned as part of the Rough Sleepers Initiative.
Within Peabody Jude is Head of Homelessness and Transitional Services working across both London and Essex providing temporary accommodation for homeless individuals, couples and families; high need provision for young people exiting care and young parents; and complex needs provision including an abstinence based service.
More recently she has been instrumental in securing funds as part of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government Next Steps Accommodation Programme to develop, remodel and revitalise accommodation to house those with a history of rough sleeping which includes 4 years-worth of revenue for support costs.
Jude was previously with Cornwall Housing in the role of Rough Sleeping Strategic Lead where under her leadership rough sleeping figures reduced by over 45%.
Her work included commissioning new initiatives and working in partnership to bring the Housing First model to Cornwall along with The Private Landlords Incentive Scheme and the Short Term Accommodation Resettlement Service (STAR).
All these initiatives came from a standing start and Jude and her team worked to tight time frames reaching out to Cornwall’s most vulnerable homeless community.
As part of this mobilisation Jude involved Harbour Housing enabling them to work on all three of the projects from their commencement enabling development of their outreach services.
