Clive was born and grew up in West London. Straight after leaving school he began work with the Cooperative Permanent Building Society which became Nationwide Building Society, rising to the position of Branch and District Manager in Milton Keynes in the late 1980s. In 1990 he left Nationwide and moved to Cornwall, his wife’s home county, and started a new career as an IFA (independent financial adviser). In 1997 Clive established his own business which merged with another local IFA in 2013 allowing him to semi-retire. He became a director of Cosgarne Hall in 2011 and is currently its Company Secretary with additional Board responsibilities for information technology and risk management. His contribution to the Board has been mainly in the areas of commercial borrowing, investment risk and staff pension schemes.
He enjoys dinghy sailing and is treasurer of his local church.
